
Automation is a powerful tool in RentalWise that allows you to streamline guest communication and operations. By setting channel-specific automation rules, you can customize messages based on the OTA or direct booking source.
Example: Sending Online Check-in Form Only for Direct Bookings & Booking.comLet's say you want to send your Online Check-in form only to guests who booked through VRBO and your RentalWise Website, while excluding other OTAs.
(Note: We do recommend enabling the Online Check-in form for all channels to ensure a smooth guest experience.)
Step 1: Create a Message TemplateFirst, create a message template with the check-in form link and essential booking details.

Step 2: Configure the Automation Rule1. Navigate to: Automations > Create New Automation
2. Configure: Your Time Triggers, Actions and below the conditions:
Status → Confirmed (to ensure the message is sent only after a booking is confirmed)
Channel ID → VRBO , Your RentalWise Website
Final ResultThis automation ensures the Online Check-in form is only sent to guests who booked through VRBO or directly via your RentalWise Website.
Guests from other OTAs (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.) will not receive this message unless you modify the conditions.
