Managing legal and fiscal obligations is crucial for any host operating short-term rentals in Portugal. That’s why RentalWise integrates with Hostkit, a compliance automation platform built for the Portuguese market.

What Is Hostkit?

Hostkit automates compliance for holiday rentals in Portugal so you can meet legal requirements without repetitive manual work.

How to Integrate Hostkit with RentalWise

Prerequisite: You must have an active Hostkit account.

Step 1 – Set Up Your Hostkit Account

  • New to Hostkit? When asked “Do you use a Channel Manager?” → select YES.

  • Existing users: click Import From Channel Manager (top-right in Hostkit).

Step 2 – Select RentalWise as Your Channel Manager

  • Choose RentalWise from the list.

  • Hostkit will ask for an API token.


Step 3 – Generate and Enter the API Key

  • In RentalWise: Integrations → Add Channel → Hostkit.

  • Copy the generated API Key.

  • Paste it in Hostkit and proceed to import your properties.

Use these in your RentalWise message templates to surface Hostkit data to guests automatically.

  • Online check-in link; sent when the reservation arrives.

Tips for using merge fields

  • Paste merge fields exactly as written (including braces).

  • Test by sending yourself a preview message on a live or test booking.

  • If a value isn’t appearing, confirm the related action has occurred (e.g., guest completed online check-in, city tax paid, smartlock code generated).


Things to Remember

  • undefined Once connected, Hostkit exclusively manages the synchronization of legal and fiscal data.

  • undefined To disable the connection, remove the listings from Hostkit.
